دور الترجمة في نشر الحضارة الإسلامية
 إن دراسة مجتمع ما للغة وثقافة ومعرفة وعلوم مجتمع آخر تعتبر شرطا من شروط  الترجمة أو المترجم. فمن المؤكد أن الترجمة لها دور كبير في نشر الحضارة الاسلامية؛ فقد ترجمت الكتب والعلوم والثقافة والحضارة الإسلامية ونقلت إلى مشارق الأرض ومغاربها. ومن المعروف أن الامبراطوريتين اليونانية والرومانية قدمتا معنى لتنمية وتطور الشعوب الاوروبية، ولكن بعد سقوط الامبراطورية الرومانية (400-500 بعد الميلاد ) أصبحت هذه الثقافة والحضارة مفقودة وذلك بسبب دخول أوروبا في فترة تسمى بالعصور المظلمة. كان ذلك  عندما كانت إمبراطورية الخلافة الاسلامية قد بلغت ذروتها في التطور والإنجازات كأول حضارة عالمية، قبل وبعد هارون الرشيد، في بغداد؛ حيث أضافت إلى هرم الحضارة الإنسانية مواصلة من حيث وقفت الجهود الرومانية واليونانية ومن ثم نقلت الحضارة مرة  أخرى الى أوروبا التي فقدتها مرة أخرى آنذاك. وبعد قرون عديدة من الزمن بدأت أوروبا بالصعود مرة أخرى حيث أصبحت أعلى حضارة  في تلك الحقبة. لكن الجوانب المتقدمة في المجتمع ظلت تأتي من الجزيرة العربية من ( سوريا واليمن ومصر)  لفترة طويلة من الزمن حتى في عصر الحروب الصليبية. كما أن آلات الحرب عند المسلمين وحتى  السيوف أيضأ كانت أكثر تقدماً من تلك التي كان يمتلكها الصليبيون. وكان صلاح الدين الايوبي هو حقاً من قام بتعليم الاوروبيين ” الفروسية” التي أصبحت الجانب الثقافي الكبير في العصور الوسطى في أوروبا. لذلك، ندرك جميعا أن علماء المسلمين وصلوا إلى قمة العلم والتطور في العديد من المجالات منها الطب والرياضيات وغيرها من العلوم في القرون الماضية، فترجمت ونقلت إلى لغات أخرى حيث حظيت باهتمام وتطوير كبيرين من علماء ومترجمين من لغات أخرى. كما أن القرآن لم يترك شيئا حدث  في الماضي وما سيحث في المستقبل الا وذكره أو أشار إليه. لذلك قام علماء الشرق والغرب بترجمة ودراسة ما كانت تحتويه تلك العلوم التي ألفها علماء الحضارة الاسلامية في ذلك الوقت في الطب والرياضيات والفلسفة والتأريخ والاجتماع وغيرهاوحللوها وقاموا بتطويرها. إننا بحاجة إلى ترجمة ما يحمله ديننا العظيم إلى تلك الأقوام التي تجهله. إن الدليل على أن الترجمة تلعب دورا كبيرا في نقل ثقافة قوم ما وحقيقة شيء ما إلى أقوام أخرى ندركه اليوم في نقل العلوم والثقافات الغريبة إلى مجتمعنا، إذ لقيت استجابة مفرطة من قبل الصغار والكبار.فلماذا لا يوجد مراكز وبرامج ثقافية، ترسل الكوادر المتخرجة من أقسام الترجمة وغيرها من الأقسام إلى تلك البلدان للتطبيق والممارسة كما هو حاصل الآن في العالم الغربي؟ حيث نجد الكثير من المراكز وبرامج تبادل الثقافات التي أنشأتها هذه البلدان لنفس الهدف.
            وما تطلبه هذه المقالة من المترجم العربي بشكل عام، تحرص على طلبه بصورة خاصة من المترجم اليمني، أو مشاريع الترجمة في اليمن سواء كانت مشاريع فردية، أم جماعية؛ كمؤسسات ومكاتب ترجمة، وبهذا الشأن ترى المقالة أن على المعنيين بالترجمة في اليمن أن لا يجعلوا من مهنة الترجمة وسيلة لكسب المال فقط أو الشهرة أو ما شابه ذلك، بل يجب عليهم كمترجمين أن لا ينسوا دورهم في مواصلة ما بدأه الآخرون في ترجمة ونقل ثقافة وتراث بلدهم ودينهم وحضارتهم الى الأقوام الأخرى باعتبار اليمن مهد الحضارة للامم العربية التي توزعت شرقا وغربا من هذا العالم على مدى قرون . ولا ننسى بأن المترجم له دور كبير في بناء وتطوير قطاع السياحة  وجذب السياح الى البلد مما يساهم ذلك في تطوير  هذا القطاع وايجاد فرص عمل له وللاخرين ولا ننسى ممارسته واحتكاكه بهؤلاء الزوار لما من شلنه ايضا تحسين مهارته اللغوية والثقافية بأستمرار. وكمترجم يمني، أود أن اوجه نصيحتي في هذه المقالة الى اخواني المترجمين  كمؤسسات أو مكاتب في اليمن بأن ينشئوا نقابة خاصة بهم تكفل حقوقهم في التنسيق والتعاون والدعم فيما بينهم وتقديم الاستشارات والتدريب مع العلم بأن اليمن لديه آلاف المتخرجين من اقسام الترجمة  عاجزين عن تطبيق ما تعلموه في دراستهم على ارض الواقع. لذلك نحن بحاجة الى مساعده هؤلاء المتخرجين ولا سيما في مجال تدريبهم على ممارسة وتطبيق ما تعلموه. وما أظن المستقبل الا واعداً للجميع بعد التغيرات الاخيرة في الوطن، فاصحاب هذه المهنة ايضا بحاجة الى تغيير الجمود الحاصل في هذا المجال في اليمن.
وخلاصة القول، لا يمكن أن نتجاهل دور الترجمة وأيضا المترجم المتمكن في نشر فكرة أو دينٍ أو ثقافة ما إلى مجتمع ما. فما زال الكثير من ثقافاتنا وديننا بحاجة إلى من ينقله إلى مختلف لغات العالم. وهذا دليل واضح على وجود نقص كبير في كفاءات ومخرجات متمكنة في مجال الترجمة في ظل التكنولوجيا في العالم العربي اليوم، على عكس ما كان موجودا في زمن ازهار الحضارة الإسلامية التي شهدت توسعا في شتى المجالات، حيث كان للترجمة دور كبير في تلك المرحلة. إذن فأين مترجمو الحاضر من الماضي في ترجمة ونقل حقيقة هذا الدين وهذه الثقافة الإسلامية، رغم وجود آلاف الخريجين في هذا المجال اليوم؟. كم نسبة إسهامات هذا العلم اليوم في إعادة بناء الحاضر وصناعة المستقبل المنشود؟
 
Role of translation in dissemination of Islamic civilization
 Studying a society for language, culture, knowledge and science of another society is deemed as one of the most important conditions of translation or translator. Translation had certainly a great role in dissemination of Islamic civilization. It is obvious that many books, sciences, culture and even Islamic civilization were translated and transferred to the east and west parts of the world. The Greek and Roman Empires defined the development of European people. But after the fall of the Roman Empire, 400-500 AD, this culture and civilization became lost as Europe entered a period called the Dark Ages. It was when the Islam Caliphate Empire was at its peak in achievement and the first of world civilizations, just before and after Haroun al-Rashid (Baghdad) that they added continuance to the balance of the human civilization from where the ceasing point of the Greek and Roman efforts and then transmitted it back to Europe, who had lost it, that Europe began to climb up again and became the top civilization many centuries later. But the advanced aspects of society continued to come from Arabia (Syria, Yemen, and Egypt) for a long time, even though the Crusades era. The Muslim war machines and even swords were more advanced than the Crusaders, and it was really Salah-al Din who taught the Europeans “chivalry” which became a big cultural aspect in the European Middle Ages. Furthermore, we are all fully aware that the Muslim scholars and scientists had peaked in science, knowledge and development, particularly in medicine and mathematics and other sciences in the past centuries. These accomplishments were translated and transferred to other languages and won great interest and development by scholars and translators from other languages. Undoubtedly, Quran also mentioned everything that happened in the past and what will happen in the future. So, the scholars and scientists of east and west translated and studied the sciences that were written by the scholars of the Islamic civilization over long centuries in medicine, mathematics, philosophy, history  and sociology and analyzed and developed them for their societies. In actuality, we need to translate the treasure of knowledge that our religion holds to those nations who do not know about it or falsify it. The conclusive evidence that the translation plays a great role in transferring the culture of a nation or truth of a something to other nations is clear to everyone today within transferring the sciences and cultures of West to our societies. These cultures and sciences have won a very significant response from all age groups in the Arab world. So, why there are no centers and cultural exchange programs to send the graduate cadres from departments and faculties of translation to those countries for practice and application as this exists in the west world? They have established lots of centers and across-cultural exchange programs for the same purpose, irrespective of the negative aspects.
 
In essence, as the article focused on the Arab translator in general, it is also very keen to consider the Yemeni translator in particular, or the translation projects in Yemen, whether individual or group projects, as organizations or offices of translation. For such consideration, this article views that the concerned individuals or organizations of translation in Yemen should not make the profession of translation a path to earn money only or prominence or the like, but they should not ignore their significant role in continuing what the other peers initiated in translating and transmitting the culture, knowledge, religion, heritage and civilization of their country to the other nations and civilizations around the world as Yemen is deemed the cradle of civilization of the Arab nations who then dispersed into the east and west of the world over centuries. Moreover, we also should not forget the role of translator in building and developing the tourism sector and attracting the tourists to the country. For such good performances, it will contribute to the development of this sector and create job opportunities for the translator himself and for the others, as well as his practice and interaction with these visitors will also improve his linguistic and cultural skills constantly. As a Yemeni translator, I strongly recommend my brotherly translators as organizations of offices in Yemen to establish their a syndicate or union of their own in order to ensure their rights in terms of coordination, cooperation, support amongst them and provide relevant consultation services and training in the field of translation as Yemen has thousands of graduates in translation being incapable to practice and apply what they have learned in their studies on the ground. So, we need to help these graduates especially in the field of training and practices what they have studied before. I am quite certain that the future is promising for everyone especially after the recent changes in Yemen. The holders of this profession also need to change the stagnancy in the translation area in Yemen.
In summary, we cannot ignore the role of translation and competent translator also in spreading an idea or religion or culture to a society. There are still a lot of our culture and religion that needs to be transferred to various languages all over the world.  As a result, this is clear evidence that there is a significant lack of potential competencies and outcomes in the field of translation within the technology in the Arab world today, contrariwise to the period of prosperity and development of the Islamic civilization which has experienced an expansion in all aspects of life. So, translation had played a significant role in that period without doubt.  As a result, how come the translators of past are better than the translators of present in terms of translating and transferring the reality of this religion and Islamic culture to all over the world, despite thousands of graduates in translation today? What is the contribution of this science “Translation” to rebuilding of the present and industry of the desired future today in the Arab world?
